
A programme was held at Krishi Vigyan Kendra Pombai in Kulgam to mark the release of the 22nd installment of the PM-KISAN scheme by Narendra Modi.
Mar 14, Srinagar: A programme was organised by the Agriculture Department at Krishi Vigyan Kendra Pombai (KVK Pombai) in Kulgam district to mark the release of the 22nd installment of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Under the latest installment, more than ₹18,640 crore has been transferred directly to the bank accounts of about 9.32 crore farmers across the country through the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) system.
In Kulgam district, around 44,000 farmers received the financial assistance under the scheme through their bank accounts.
The programme at KVK Pombai was attended by officials of the Agriculture Department and a large number of farmers from different parts of the district.
During the event, farmers expressed happiness and gratitude for the timely financial support provided under the PM-KISAN scheme, stating that the assistance helps them meet agricultural expenses such as the purchase of seeds, fertilizers and other farm inputs.
Officials highlighted the importance of the scheme in strengthening the farming community and reiterated the government’s commitment towards the welfare and economic security of farmers.
The programme concluded with an interaction between farmers and agricultural experts, where farmers were encouraged to adopt modern and sustainable farming practices to improve productivity and income.
