New Delhi, March 12 Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday criticised those attempting to create panic regarding the LPG situation in India, stating that they are not only exposing themselves to the public but also harming the country.
Addressing the NXT Summit here, Modi also said that no country is unaffected by the current crisis in the Middle East, and the government is doing everything possible to ensure India's energy security.
He also said that some individuals are attempting to engage in the black market by taking advantage of the current situation, and warned that action will be taken against such unscrupulous elements.
"Some individuals are trying to create panic regarding LPG. Without making any political point, I will say that they are not only exposing themselves to the public but also harming the country," Modi said.
The prime minister also said that everyone has a role to play in dealing with the current crisis arising from the conflict in the Middle East – whether it be political parties, the media, youth, cities, or villages.
Despite many global crises, world leaders and experts look to India with great hope, which also raises India's responsibilities, Modi said.
"The entire world knows today that if you want to be part of the future, you must connect with and be in India," he said.
"There is one goal, one destination, which is a developed India. India is not just progressing, it is moving to the next level," he added.
The prime minister also said that the world is going through a difficult phase, but India is moving forward at a fast and steady pace.
"Several global leaders are saying that India is becoming the centre of gravity for the entire world," Modi said.
