Chandigarh, March 28 Prime Minister Narendra Modi has consistently supported his fellow citizens, whether it's the COVID pandemic or the ongoing conflict in West Asia, Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini said on Saturday.
Saini also accused the Congress and other opposition parties of politicizing these crises.
Regarding the supply of petroleum products in Haryana, Saini stated that it remains smooth and uninterrupted.
He expressed his gratitude to the prime minister for reducing excise duty on petrol to Rs 3 per litre and completely exempting diesel from the duty.
He said that this measure will help stabilize fuel prices.
"We all know that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has consistently supported his fellow citizens, driven by an unwavering commitment to prioritize 'Nation First'," Saini said at a press conference.
He said that it is the responsibility of the opposition to cooperate during such times, but they are trying to mislead people.
In Haryana, there is no shortage of petrol, diesel, and gas, he said.
"I want to tell people that there is no need for panic. They should not engage in panic buying and should not pay attention to rumors," he said. "We are regularly in contact with oil marketing companies, and we have been holding meetings with them," Saini said.
He said that there are 4,032 government petrol pumps, where an average of 4,804 kilolitres of petrol and 12,003 kilolitres of diesel are sold.
On Friday, Saini participated in a virtual meeting with Prime Minister Modi.
In the meeting, he informed the prime minister that the supply of petroleum products in Haryana is smooth and uninterrupted.
