PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana gains momentum in Hailakandi
Hailakandi, March 6: In Assam's Hailakandi district, the ambitious scheme, PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana, is benefiting many households through the implementation of the Central Government's scheme, providing them with free electricity generated through solar power.
Solar panels have already been installed in numerous homes across the district. As a result, many families are now using electricity generated from solar energy, which has significantly reduced their electricity bills.
Under the scheme, the government is providing financial assistance and subsidies for the installation of solar panels. This support has encouraged many residents to come forward and avail the benefits of the programme.
According to sources in the Assam Power Distribution Company Limited (APDCL), more than 700 consumers in Hailakandi district have already benefitted from the scheme. The number is expected to increase further in the coming days.
The use of solar energy as an eco-friendly source of power is not only helping in environmental conservation but is also reducing electricity expenses for the general public. As a result, public interest in the scheme is steadily growing in Hailakandi.
