
A three-day Trade Fair-cum-Exhibition for PM Vishwakarma beneficiaries under the Procurement and Marketing Support Scheme was organized today at Savio Hall in Shillong. The exhibition aims to promote traditional artisans and provide them with a platform to showcase their products and expand their market reach.
The event was organized by the MSME Development and Facilitation Office, Shillong, under the Office of the Development Commissioner, MSME, Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises, in collaboration with the Commerce and Industries Department, Government of Meghalaya.
The program was inaugurated with the traditional lighting of the lamp by the dignitaries present on the occasion.
Speaking as the Chief Guest, Director and Head of Office, Branch MSME DFO Guwahati, Gaurav Joshi expressed his happiness at being part of the exhibition organized under the Procurement and Marketing Support Scheme of the Ministry of MSME.
He said that the exhibition has been specifically organized for PM Vishwakarma artisans, providing them an opportunity to showcase their products at the local level and gradually move towards national and international markets. He further informed that the scheme offers 100 percent financial support, including assistance for transportation of goods, enabling artisans to participate without financial burden.
Among others present on the occasion were Joint Director, Commerce and Industries, M. Wanshnong, Assistant Director and Head of Office, Br MSME DFO Shillong, P.B. Suresh Babu, and Deputy Director, Directorate of Commerce and Industries, Winfred Warshong, along with other guests and participants.
More than one hundred stalls were set up by beneficiaries of the PM Vishwakarma Scheme, showcasing a wide range of traditional crafts and products. The exhibition provides a valuable platform for artisans to promote their products, connect with buyers and expand their market reach.
Some of the participants also interacted exclusively with DD News Meghalaya and shared their experiences and journey so far.
The three-day event is expected to attract visitors, entrepreneurs and stakeholders from across the region.
