PMK Leadership Dispute: Court Orders Inclusion of Key Figure.webp

Chennai, March 12 The Madras High Court on Thursday granted an interim stay on a city civil court proceedings in the PMK leadership dispute case and held that it was necessary to include the party general secretary (Vadivel Ravanan) as a party to the proceedings.

Ravanan had moved the Madras High Court seeking to be impleaded in the case filed by party founder S Ramadoss against his son Anbumani Ramadoss, after the city civil court rejected his petition.

When the case came up for hearing, Justice T V Tamilselvi said, "As of now, he (Vadivel Ravanan) is holding the position of general secretary of PMK. Considering his claim, he is a necessary party to the proceedings. Without considering his petition to be impleaded, the trial court is not permitted to proceed with other applications, otherwise it will lead to miscarriage of justice.”

The court directed Ramadoss, Anbumani, and the Election Commission of India to respond to Ravanan's plea and posted the matter for April 10 for further hearing.
