
Hazaribag, March 28 A 40-year-old man was killed by a group of people during a Ram Navami procession in Hazaribag district, Jharkhand, police said on Saturday.
The incident took place in Gadokhar village, under the Pelawal outpost limits, on Friday night when two suspects attacked him with sharp objects after an argument, Hazaribag Sadar SDPO Amit Anand said.
The deceased has been identified as Rama Saw, he said.
The police have launched an investigation into the killing, the SDPO said.
"It appears that the incident was due to an old grudge. Two suspects have been identified, but they are currently on the run. Raids are being conducted to apprehend them," the officer said.
The body of Saw has been sent to the district headquarters hospital for post-mortem examination, the SDPO said.
