
New Delhi, February 23 A 35-year-old woman was allegedly sexually assaulted by a man in Delhi's Rohini area after she had consumed alcohol, police said on Monday.
The woman, a resident of Rohini, approached the Vijay Vihar police station on Monday and filed a complaint against the accused, who runs a snack stall and had known her for nearly 15 years, they said.
In her complaint, the woman stated that on February 20, around 5:30 pm, the accused asked her to accompany him to his residence, claiming that he needed her help in arranging tuition for his children, a senior police officer said.
When she reached the house, she found that no one else was present there, the officer said. The woman alleged that the accused had intoxicated her and then sexually assaulted her.
After the incident, he dropped her near her residence. He threatened her with dire consequences if she told anyone about the incident, and also threatened to show obscene photographs of her to her brother, police said.
A case has been registered under sections 64(1) (rape) and 123 (causing hurt by means of poison, etc., with intent to commit an offence), they said.
The accused has been arrested, and further investigation is underway, they added.
