
Thane, March 29 A man has been arrested for allegedly sexually harassing two 10-year-old girls in Thane district, Maharashtra, police said on Sunday.
Irfan Mashak Sheikh (23), a resident of Bhiwandi, was apprehended early Saturday morning in connection with the incident that occurred in the Navi Wasti area on Friday.
"The accused allegedly cornered two minor girls, touched them inappropriately, and harassed them," an official from the Bhiwandi City police station said.
Based on the complaint filed by the mother of one of the girls, the police have registered a case under section 74 (assault or criminal force against a woman with intent to outrage her modesty) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), along with relevant provisions of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, he said.
