Chatra, March 14 A 23-year-old man was allegedly shot dead in the Chatra district of Jharkhand, police said on Saturday.
The incident occurred near the Dhamdhama village on the Chatra-Simariya Road on Friday when the deceased, identified as Karamjeet Kumar alias Vikas Saw, was returning home from court after giving his statement in a case, they said.
"Four shots were fired, and two of them hit him," said Awadhesh Kumar Singh, the in-charge of the Sadar police station.
Efforts are being made to identify those responsible for the shooting, he said.
