Police Probe Launched After Harassment Allegation.webp

Bhubaneswar, April 2 A female police havildar in the Odisha police has filed a complaint of harassment against two officers at her workplace in the Angul district, prompting authorities to launch an investigation, an official said on Thursday.

After filing the complaint, the havildar also submitted her resignation letter, but it has not yet been accepted.

Angul Superintendent of Police (SP) Rahul Jain said, "An internal complaints committee (ICC) is looking into the matter. I have ordered another investigation by a team headed by a senior female DSP."

Jain said that action will be taken based on the findings of the investigation.

The woman havildar, working in the Angul district, alleged that two of her senior officers subjected her to prolonged mental harassment.

"My life has been miserable due to these two senior officers, and I am forced to resign," the woman havildar told reporters.
