Polling is taking place for the state assembly elections in Assam, Kerala, and the Union Territory of Puducherry. Voters are casting their votes for 126 seats in Assam, 140 seats in Kerala, and 30 seats in Puducherry. The Election Commission has made elaborate security arrangements to ensure free, fair, and peaceful polling.

In Assam, a polling percentage of 75.91% was recorded by 3 PM. The highest voter turnout of 84.24% was observed in the South Salmara-Mankachar district. In Kerala, a polling percentage of 62.71% was recorded by 3 PM. The highest polling percentage of 66% was observed in the Ernakulam district. In the Union Territory of Puducherry, a voting percentage of 72.40% was recorded by 3 PM.

In Nagaland, peaceful polling is underway at all 30 polling stations for the by-election to the 28th Koridang Assembly Constituency in the Mokokchung district. The polling percentage by 3 PM stands at 61.21%. Polling began at 7 AM amid heightened security arrangements and will continue until 4 PM.

Meanwhile, today is the last day for withdrawing nominations for the first phase of polling in West Bengal and the last day for filing nominations for the second phase of polling in the state. Counting of votes for Assam, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, West Bengal, and the Union Territory of Puducherry will take place on the 4th of next month.
