POONCH, March 6: Deputy Commissioner Ashok Kumar Sharma chaired a meeting of the District Telecom Committee to review the status of telecom services and infrastructure across the district.

The meeting focused on telecom connectivity, network coverage in rural and border areas, and issues related to the installation of mobile towers and other telecom facilities. Representatives from telecom service providers briefed the chair on the current status of services in the district.

The Deputy Commissioner emphasized the need to strengthen telecom connectivity, particularly in remote and border areas, and directed telecom companies to improve network coverage, address public grievances, and expedite the installation and maintenance of infrastructure.

The meeting also highlighted the importance of better coordination among departments to ensure timely clearances for telecom-related projects.

Among others, Additional Deputy Commissioner Tahir Mustafa Malik, Additional Superintendent of Police Mohan Lal, District Informatics Officer Parvinder Singh, Chief Medical Officer Dr. Parvaiz Ahmed Khan, Executive Engineer JPDCL Aftab Ahmed, Divisional Forest Officer and Divisional Officer JKPCC Poonch, along with representatives of telecom companies, attended the meeting.
