Union Minister for Shipping and Waterways, Sarbananda Sonowal, inaugurated and laid the foundation for several port projects worth approximately ₹1500 crore today. These projects include the VOC Maritime Heritage Museum, the laying of the foundation stone for an 8 MW wind farm, and a 5 MWh battery energy storage system, as well as the launch of corporate social responsibility initiatives at the port.
