Post & Passport Offices Face Hoax Bomb Threats.webp

Jaipur, March 27 Post offices and passport offices in several cities of Rajasthan received bomb threats, prompting thorough checks by authorities on Friday. Nothing suspicious was found, police said.

The news of a bomb triggered panic in the post offices and passport offices in Jaisalmer, Barmer, Bikaner, and Ajmer.

Following an email warning of explosions in Jaisalmer, the premises were immediately evacuated and police carried out intensive searches.

A similar alert in Barmer led to the evacuation of the main post office and a detailed search of the premises. Police said nothing suspicious was recovered after hours of checking, and employees were later allowed to resume work.

In Bikaner, officials received an email warning of the destruction of the main post office. The premises were cleared and searched by bomb disposal and dog squads. Ajmer also experienced a similar scare.

Similar threats were received in post offices and passport offices in the state earlier this month, but the threat turned out to be a hoax.
