RAMBAN, FEBRUARY 24: Deputy Commissioner of Ramban, Mohammad Alyas Khan, chaired a review meeting to assess the implementation of key power sector schemes across the district.
The meeting was attended by CPO Dr. Shakeeb Ahmed Rather, the Executive Engineer of Jammu Power Distribution Corporation Limited (JPDCL), along with representatives of executing agencies and vendors involved in flagship power initiatives.
The Deputy Commissioner evaluated progress under the Revamped Distribution Sector Scheme (RDSS), the installation of Smart Meters, and Rooftop Solar projects in the district. He directed concerned agencies to expedite RDSS works to ensure timely achievement of targets and addressed bottlenecks by issuing necessary instructions to officers.
Reiterating full administrative support, he emphasized the importance of completing projects on schedule to strengthen power distribution infrastructure, enhance operational efficiency, and improve consumer satisfaction across Ramban district.
While reviewing the Smart Meter rollout, the Deputy Commissioner instructed executing agencies to accelerate installations within prescribed timelines. He also stressed effective implementation and wider promotion of PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana, encouraging households to adopt Rooftop Solar systems to reduce electricity costs and ensure sustainable, reliable power supply. Engineers and implementing agencies were directed to speed up installations while maintaining strict quality standards to meet set targets.
