
Pune/Panaji, March 20 Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant said he was admitted to a private hospital in Pune for a day for a routine medical check-up, and all his health parameters are normal.
Sawant (52) said he has been discharged from the hospital.
In a statement on Thursday, Dr Purvez Grant, chairperson of Ruby Hall Clinic, a leading private hospital in Pune, claimed that the Goa CM successfully underwent an "angioplasty procedure" at the facility.
In a video message released in Panaji, Sawant said that when he was in Pune in western Maharashtra, he underwent a routine medical investigation at Ruby Hall Clinic.
"I had to be admitted (to the hospital) for a day. All my (medical) reports are normal. I have taken discharge and I am with my family in Pune now," the BJP leader maintained.
The Chief Minister, a qualified Ayurvedic doctor, further said that he has been reading about rumors that were being spread on social media and in the press (about his health).
"I would like to inform my well-wishers and friends from the media that all my reports are normal. I will be back in Goa in a day and resume routine work," he stated.
Sawant said he was thankful to everyone for showing their concern about his health.
