Mumbai, March 4 Actress Pratibha Ranta, who has been receiving a lot of positive feedback for her role in the recently released streaming film 'Accused', has shared the process she used to get into the mindset of her character.

During the film's promotion, Ranta spoke with IANS and revealed that reading sessions were particularly helpful. She explained that reading provided clarity, which she then used in conjunction with improvisation to deliver her performance.

She told IANS, "We did a lot of readings and workshops. And with Anubhuti Kashyap and Konkona Sen Sharma, when we would be in a room discussing a specific scene, a lot of things would become clear. So, when we were on set, we had a good understanding of the headspace we were entering and how we wanted to approach the entire scene."

She further added, "And of course, when you're performing, that's a different thing. You tend to experiment, improvise, and get into the character's mindset. So, it was all about that, and there was a lot of comfort. The scenes felt very real. It felt like we had lived through it before, or it just felt very familiar. That's how it was, and I think the reading sessions really helped me understand the character better."

'Accused' tells the story of a woman who is accused of sexually harassing a victim. The film stars Konkona Sen Sharma and Pratibha Ranta in the lead roles. The film is directed by Anubhuti Kashyap.

'Accused' is available to stream on Netflix.
