Mumbai, March 23 Actor Aditya Uppal played the role of ASP Omar Haider in Aditya Dhar's films "Dhurandhar" and "Dhurandhar: The Revenge", which were part of the Lyari Task Force.
To fully embody the character, Aditya undertook extensive research, including gun training.
He also watched a lot of content on YouTube to gain a better understanding of the character's mannerisms and viewpoints.
"I did go through a lot of YouTube content and the material provided by the editorial team. I tried to understand the characters' views, mannerisms, and backgrounds, as well as the way they speak. He is a writer, and I tried to understand the development of his personality. There were certain scenes that required special preparation, especially scenes where I had a gun, so I had to undergo gun training," he shared.
Given that the character was part of the Lyari Task Force led by SP Chaudhary Aslam, played by Sanjay Dutt, most of Aditya's scenes were with him.
Sharing his experience working with Sanjay, he said, "I had a wonderful experience working with Sanjay Dutt. My first interaction was with him, where I told him that I was a big fan of his films, Saajan and Khalnayak."
"Working with him was a delightful experience and a dream come true. I was extremely inspired by his personality and his delivery of dialogue. Certain words in the film were situational, and he delivered them so well that they felt very real," he added.
Aditya also praised the film's director, Aditya Dhar, calling him his mentor.
He admitted that the filmmaker has helped shape his approach on both a personal and professional level.
"He has taught me the nuances of acting and filmmaking, and how an actor needs to understand their shots and how everything should be done. He ensures that the actors are comfortable. He is a person who is taking us to the cinema, which we see internationally," he said.
