
Ahmedabad, April 11 President Droupadi Murmu will be on a two-day visit to Gujarat from April 13, during which she will attend two graduation ceremonies in Rajkot and Gandhinagar, officials said on Saturday.
On April 13, the President will visit the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Rajkot, where she will preside over the institute's first graduation ceremony as the chief guest.
During the event, the inaugural batch of MBBS students admitted in 2020 will be awarded degrees. A total of 49 students will receive MBBS degrees, while one student will be awarded a post-doctoral certificate in virology, according to a release by the institute.
As many as 10 medals, including four gold, three silver, and three bronze, will be awarded to meritorious students.
The event, to be held in the evening, may also be attended by Gujarat Governor Acharya Devvrat, Union Minister of State for Health Anupriya Patel, and Gujarat Minister of State for Health Praful Pansheriya, among others.
On April 14, the President will attend the fifth graduation ceremony of Rashtriya Raksha University in Gandhinagar, which functions under the Ministry of Home Affairs.
The event will be held at 5 pm on the university campus near Lavad village. RRU is an 'institution of national importance'.
The President will stay at Lok Bhavan (Governor's house) in Gandhinagar during her Gujarat visit, officials said.
