
Mumbai, March 19 Streaming service Prime Video announced on Thursday the second seasons of "Dahaad", the critically acclaimed crime thriller starring Sonakshi Sinha, and "Call Me Bae", the breakout hit starring Ananya Panday.
The streaming service unveiled teasers for the two shows during its slate announcement press conference here.
The second season of "Dahaad", a crime thriller created by Zoya Akhtar and Reema Kagti, will feature Sinha alongside Gulshan Devaiah.
They will be joined by actors Vineet Kumar Singh, Sikandar Kher, Aisha Ahmed, Jyoti Kapoor, and Vidhaan Sharma.
"A missing twelve-year-old in a quiet Rajasthani town draws Sub-Inspector Anjali Meghwal (Sinha) into a hunt for a serial killer, investigating how power, patriarchy, and privilege can fuel horrific violence," reads the official logline for the second season.
Kagti has directed the season alongside Ruchika Oberoi. Akhtar, Kagti, Karan Tejpal, Chaitanya Chopra, Ruchi Joshi, and Vidhur Nauriyal are credited for the story and screenplay, with dialogues written by Sumit Arora.
The season is produced by Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani's Excel Entertainment along with Tiger Baby, the banner of Akhtar and Kagti.
The first season, which saw Sinha and Devaiah's cop characters investigating the mysterious deaths of multiple women suspected to be the work of a serial killer, was a critical hit after premiering on the platform in 2023.
In "Call Me Bae" season two, Panday's heiress-turned-journalist Bae returns with her own news show on air, but finds herself caught between her returning ex-husband and her boss, while a new character dubbed "Nayi Behen" threatens to disrupt her friendships.
Shruti Haasan joins the cast for the new season alongside returning cast members Vir Das, Gurfateh Pirzada, Varun Sood, Vihaan Samat, Muskkaan Jaferi, Niharika Lyra Dutt, Lisa Mishra, and Mini Mathur.
Collin D'Cunha returns as director, with Ishita Moitra, Samina Motlekar, and Rohit Nair on writing duties.
The show is produced by Dharmatic Entertainment, with Karan Johar, Adar Poonawalla, and Apoorva Mehta as producers.
The first season, which marked Panday's OTT debut, premiered in September 2024, and ranked number one on Prime Video's India Top 10 since its launch, with viewership reported across more than 165 countries.
