
The Deputy Commissioner of Srinagar and the Chief Medical Officer of Srinagar launched the HPV vaccination campaign at the UPHC Batmaloo for 14-year-old girls.
February 28, Srinagar: On Friday, the Deputy Commissioner of Srinagar, along with the Chief Medical Officer of Srinagar, inaugurated the HPV vaccination campaign at the Urban Primary Health Centre Batmaloo for 14-year-old girls.
The campaign is being conducted in accordance with the directions from the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India, for the nationwide launch of the HPV vaccination drive.
The Human Papillomavirus (HPV) vaccination aims to protect adolescent girls against cervical cancer and other HPV-related diseases. The vaccine is being administered free of cost as part of the government's efforts to strengthen preventive health care and safeguard the well-being of young girls.
Speaking to DD News, the Deputy Commissioner emphasized the importance of timely vaccination in preventing cervical cancer and urged parents and guardians to ensure the participation of all eligible girls in the campaign.
He said that this initiative marks a step towards promoting public health awareness and expanding access to essential immunization services across the district.
