In Jammu and Kashmir, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his historic decision to protect households from supply disruptions caused by the West Asia crisis. According to a report by Akashvani Jammu, in a post on X, the LG stated, "Prioritizing the well-being of citizens, Hon'ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has taken a historic decision to protect households from supply disruptions caused by the West Asia crisis. These measures reflect his commitment to maintaining the standard of living for ordinary Indians. The central excise duty has been reduced by Rs. 10 per litre on both petrol and diesel, shielding consumers from rising costs. Export duties have been strategically levied at Rs. 21.5 per litre on diesel and Rs. 29.5 on aviation turbine fuel, ensuring a stable domestic supply. I express my deepest gratitude to Hon'ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi for this visionary intervention, which ensures affordability, prevents price escalation, and prioritizes India's interests above all. While global markets are in turmoil, our citizens remain protected and secure."
