March 4, Srinagar: Residents of Thamuna village in Pulwama staged a protest march to the Deputy Commissioner's Office on Tuesday, alleging medical negligence at the District Hospital in Pulwama following the death of a local youth.

The deceased was identified as Paryaz Ahmad Sheikh. Protesters claimed that he was not provided proper medical attention at the hospital, which they alleged led to his untimely death.

Raising slogans, the demonstrators demanded strict action against the doctors and medical staff whom they hold responsible. They later submitted a memorandum to the district administration, seeking a fair and transparent inquiry into the incident.

The protesters also called for accountability and immediate corrective measures to prevent such incidents from recurring.

Villagers expressed grief and anger over the death, saying that healthcare services at the district hospital require closer monitoring and improvement.
