
Srinagar, March 3 Schools and colleges across Kashmir will remain closed until March 7, following protests against the killing of Iran's Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, in a joint air strike by Israel and the US.
"All schools and colleges in the Kashmir Valley will remain closed until March 7, 2026," Education Minister Sakina Itoo said on Tuesday.
With protests escalating, the government had ordered the closure of educational institutions in the Valley for two days on March 1.
Protests against the killing of the top Shia cleric continued for the third consecutive day on Tuesday, with thousands of people taking to the streets in several parts of Kashmir, including in Srinagar city.
The protests have largely erupted in areas with a large Shia population.
