Pune, March 30 Heavy rain and hailstorms hit parts of Pune city on Monday, causing waterlogging and traffic disruptions, as the meteorological department warned of unseasonal showers in western Maharashtra.
Showers, accompanied by strong winds, pounded the Aundh, Baner, Mhalunge, and Balewadi areas in the afternoon, flooding several roads.
The Pune Meteorological Department has forecast unseasonal rainfall in south-central Maharashtra and Marathwada for the next few days.
It has predicted hailstorms in Solapur, Satara, Sangli, parts of the Pune district, Marathwada, Gadchiroli, and Nagpur.
Authorities have urged farmers to harvest ready crops and fruits, and to take necessary precautions for standing crops.
