Fazilka, April 2 Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann said on Thursday that the people of the state will "oust" the Congress, BJP, and the Shiromani Akali Dal in the 2027 Assembly elections due to their "decades of corruption, lies, and betrayal".
Addressing a public gathering after laying foundation stones and inaugurating development projects worth Rs 283.99 crore in Fazilka, Mann said that traditional parties have no future in Punjab as people have made up their minds to reject them.
He alleged that these parties had repeatedly "betrayed" Punjab and misled people with empty promises, but voters are now fully aware of their "dubious character".
"The people will not forgive these parties and will teach them a fitting lesson again in 2027," he said.
Mann said the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government is focusing on education, healthcare, employment, and infrastructure, while opposition parties are only interested in gaining power.
He claimed that public money is now being spent on the welfare of the people, rather than on political families, as was the case earlier.
Highlighting government initiatives, the chief minister said that over 65,000 jobs have been provided based on merit without corruption, 90 per cent households are receiving free electricity, and major improvements have been made in roads and infrastructure.
Mann said that under the Mukh Mantri Sehat Yojna, health cards are being issued to 65 lakh families, providing free treatment up to Rs 10 lakh per family.
On agriculture, Mann said that farmers received more than eight hours of uninterrupted power supply during the paddy season, and canal irrigation has increased significantly.
He also said that the projects worth Rs 283.99 crore launched in Fazilka will boost infrastructure, irrigation, and connectivity in the border district.
The chief minister reiterated that his government is committed to welfare and development, adding that Punjab is moving forward with "honest governance and people-centric policies".
