Amritsar, March 12 AAP convener Arvind Kejriwal visited the Sri Harmandir Sahib along with Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann on Thursday after a court recently acquitted him in the Delhi liquor policy case.
Kejriwal visited the shrine with his wife, while Mann and his wife also offered prayers.
Speaking to reporters, Kejriwal said that several AAP leaders had been jailed on what he described as false allegations, but the court dismissed all charges, saying there was not enough evidence to proceed with a trial.
He said the party leadership had faced a campaign of political allegations and mudslinging and claimed that five senior leaders were sent to jail on fabricated charges.
Kejriwal said he had come to offer prayers and thank Waheguru after the allegations were dismissed. He added that the party would continue to serve the people with honesty and dedication.
He said the Mann government had done significant work in the last four years in sectors such as schools, hospitals, healthcare and welfare schemes for women.
Kejriwal said a major plan had been prepared to take Punjab to the next level, especially by improving infrastructure and creating employment opportunities for the youth.
Meanwhile, Mann said the court's decision showed that the allegations against Kejriwal and other AAP leaders were baseless and there was not even enough evidence to start a trial.
The chief minister said the Punjab government had presented a pro-people budget aimed at accelerating the state's development and making it the number one state in the country.
Mann also said the Invest Punjab summit will begin on Friday, and investors from several countries are expected to participate and explore opportunities in the state.
