
Chandigarh, February 19 Punjab Minister of Forests and Wildlife Preservation, Lal Chand Kataruchak, stated on Thursday at the Chhatbir Zoo near Mohali that three female tiger cubs have been named Garima, Gunjan, and Ghazal.
The tigress, Gauri, gave birth to these cubs in November last year. They are now ready to be moved to a larger enclosure, according to an official statement.
The total number of tigers in the zoo has now reached 10.
Kataruchak also said that the zoo will be celebrating its golden jubilee in April, and the department is considering organizing a grand celebration.
