
Thane, April 6 A 35-year-old man was arrested for allegedly assaulting and sexually harassing a minor girl in the Rabale area of Navi Mumbai, a police official said on Monday.
The accused, Vivek Gajanan Kadam, who resides in Ghansoli, works as an office assistant at the Rabale police station, according to senior inspector Balkrishna Sawant.
"On April 4, around 8:30 am, when the victim was walking on a road, Kadam approached her from behind, kicked her, asked her name, and then engaged in indecent behavior. A case has been registered under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act for assault, sexual harassment, and other offenses," the official said.
He was arrested based on CCTV footage and information provided by informants, the official added.
