
Vice President C.P. Radhakrishnan arrived in Srinagar on Wednesday for a two-day visit, during which he will attend the 21st convocation of the University of Kashmir.
February 25, Srinagar: Vice President C.P. Radhakrishnan arrived in Jammu and Kashmir on Wednesday evening for a two-day official visit, his first to the Union Territory since taking office.
A business Boeing aircraft carrying the vice president landed at Srinagar International Airport, where he was received by Lt. Gov. Manoj Sinha, Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, Chief Secretary Atal Dulloo, the General Officer Commanding of the 15 Corps based in Srinagar, and Director General of Police Nalin Prabhat.
From the airport, Radhakrishnan proceeded in a secure motorcade to Raj Bhawan in the Chashma Shahi area, where he will stay during his visit.
On Thursday, the vice president is scheduled to attend the 21st convocation ceremony of the University of Kashmir at its Hazratbal campus as the chief guest.
The lieutenant governor serves as the chancellor of the university, while the chief minister is its pro-chancellor.
