Vice President C P Radhakrishnan stated today that corporate social responsibility (CSR) is no longer an afterthought in business strategy but is central to national progress. The Vice President made these remarks while addressing the National CSR Summit 2026, which was held in New Delhi. He explained that CSR can play a transformative role in strengthening the public education system, primary healthcare, and aligning skill development with industry needs, in line with societal requirements.

The Vice President also noted that over the past decade, India has experienced significant structural reforms, rapid infrastructure expansion, increased digital connectivity, and greater financial inclusion, lifting millions out of poverty. Mr. Radhakrishnan also pointed out that the Indian economy has grown steadily from an average economy to become the fourth largest economy globally.
