Rahul Gandhi Faces Criticism Over Parliamentary Disruption

Rahul Gandhi Faces Criticism Over Parliamentary Disruption.webp

March 17, New Delhi: Former SP Vaid has strongly criticised Rahul Gandhi for his actions inside the Indian Parliament on March 12. In a detailed statement, Vaid said that Gandhi, along with several MPs, defied the Speaker's instruction prohibiting demonstrations within the parliamentary complex, reportedly sitting on the steps of Parliament while having tea and biscuits. He described this behaviour as unbecoming of a Member of Parliament, arguing that it violated established norms, undermined the dignity of Parliament, and trivialised democratic deliberations.

Vaid described Gandhi's behaviour as a reflection of "arrogance and entitlement" and warned that such actions could damage the reputation of India's democratic institutions. He urged Gandhi to apologize to the nation and reflect on his actions, emphasising that Members of Parliament must uphold propriety and respect the authority of the House.

The statement was issued by Vaid in his capacity as a former law enforcement official committed to preserving the sanctity of India's democratic institutions.
