Railway Infrastructure Improvements Target Tatanagar Delays

Railway Infrastructure Improvements Target Tatanagar Delays.webp

Jamshedpur, April 7 The Chakradharpur division of the South Eastern Railway on Tuesday said that measures were being taken to improve railway infrastructure and restore the punctuality of passenger trains running through Jharkhand's Tatanagar station.

This assurance came after supporters of the JD(U), led by legislator Saryu Roy, staged a protest outside the main entrance of the Tatanagar station to protest the frequent delays in the operation of trains through the division.

Railway Protection Force and Government Railway Police personnel were deployed to maintain law and order.

Senior Divisional Commercial Manager Aditya Kumar Choudhary said that the division was addressing basic and technical challenges that were affecting the timely operation and monitoring services around the clock.

He cited limited control due to the lack of a third line, ongoing non-interlocking (NI) work at Tatanagar, and restrictions caused by elephant movement near forest areas.

Choudhary said that redevelopment work to increase platforms and create a freight corridor at Tatanagar is underway and is expected to be completed in three years. He assured the protesters that normalcy would be restored soon.

On Monday, the district co-operative department of the East Singhbhum District Congress Committee had also staged a protest at Palang Market here in protest against the late running of trains.
