March 24, New Delhi – The India Meteorological Department has forecast rain, thunderstorms, and heat in various regions.
In the south, hot and humid conditions are expected in Goa and Kerala, while states like Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, and Karnataka remain under a yellow alert for thunderstorms and lightning.
In the east and northeast, an orange alert has been issued for Sikkim and West Bengal for heavy rain and hailstorms, while Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, and Meghalaya may experience isolated heavy rainfall.
Overall, scattered to widespread rainfall with thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds is expected across northeast and adjoining east India during the week.
