Lucknow, March 24 The Lucknow bench of the Allahabad High Court on Tuesday refused to grant relief to MLC Akshay Pratap Singh and others who are accused in a case involving serious allegations of fraud and forgery leveled by the wife of former cabinet minister Raghuraj Pratap Singh alias Raja Bhaiya.
Dismissing the petition, a single bench of Justice Subhash Vidyarthi upheld the order of the Special Judge MP-MLA court, Lucknow, and declined to interfere in the proceedings.
Akshay Pratap Singh, along with Rohit Kumar Singh, Anil Kumar Singh and Ramdev Yadav, moved the petition challenging the February 18 order of the special court.
Akshay Pratap Singh's wife, Bhanvi Singh, had filed a complaint before the judicial magistrate court alleging that the accused persons had conspired to usurp valuable assets belonging to her firm, M/s Sarang Enterprises.
She claimed that forged documents were prepared and manipulated to illegally transfer the firm's properties elsewhere. Seeking legal action, she urged the court to direct the Hazratganj police in Lucknow to register an FIR and initiate an investigation.
Earlier, on October 19, 2023, the judicial magistrate court treated her application as a complaint case instead of ordering an FIR.
Dissatisfied, Bhanvi Singh challenged the order by filing a revision plea.
The special judge, MP-MLA court, set aside the judicial magistrate court's order on February 18 and directed reconsideration of the matter.
Challenging this special court's order, the accused persons approached the high court.
However, the bench found no merit in their plea and dismissed the petition, observing the seriousness of the allegations.
