Jaipur, March 28 Amid concerns over the uninterrupted supply of gas due to the conflict in West Asia, Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma on Saturday warned of strict action against black marketing and overpricing of LPG cylinders, including filing FIRs and cancelling licenses of erring distributors.
Chairing a virtual review meeting on LPG supply, Sharma directed the district collectors to conduct daily monitoring and ensure ground-level feedback on the availability and distribution of LPG cylinders.
Sharma asked the officials to conduct surprise inspections, match stock registers with actual storage, and take action against any irregularities, including blacklisting repeat offenders.
The chief minister also directed the concerned departments, including food and civil supplies and police, to launch joint enforcement drives and ensure regular inspections of godowns, agencies, and distribution centers.
Emphasizing grievance redressal, Sharma said complaints must be resolved within 24 hours and monitored at the chief secretary level.
He also called for the implementation of OTP-based distribution and the expansion of piped natural gas (PNG) and city gas distribution (CGD) networks, with approvals for pipeline laying to be issued within 24 hours.
Officials said that more than 3,700 inspections have been conducted across the state as of March 27.
