Jaipur, March 16 A day after a 15-year-old and his younger brother went missing in the Alwar district of Rajasthan, their bodies were found in a water-filled pit, with police suspecting they drowned.
The incident occurred in Rasoolpur village, when the two brothers –Manisha (15) and Sandeep (12) – left their house to play but did not return until late at night, police said.
Their family members initially searched for them in nearby areas, but when they could not be found, the police were informed.
On Monday, some villagers noticed the children's clothes and slippers lying near a water-filled pit in the fields near the Shekhpur forest area and began searching. The bodies were then recovered from the water, police said.
Preliminary findings suggest that the brothers may have accidentally fallen into the water-filled pit while playing near it and then drowned.
Upon receiving information about the incident, Agriculture Minister Kirodi Lal Meena visited the village, met the grieving family and expressed condolences.
He assured them of all possible assistance from the state government and directed officials to conduct a thorough investigation and take steps to prevent such incidents in the future.
