Jaipur, April 2 The Rajasthan Electricity Regulatory Commission has decided not to increase electricity tariffs for the financial year 2026-27, providing relief to over 1.75 crore consumers in the state.
The commission issued the order after hearing the annual revenue requirement and tariff petitions filed by the three state power distribution companies (discoms) in Jaipur, Jodhpur, and Ajmer.
Officials said the discoms had proposed several rationalisation measures in their petitions.
The commission approved a reduction in minimum electricity charges for medium industrial power category consumers from Rs 6.30 per unit to Rs 6 per unit.
It also approved an exemption for street lighting from daytime tariffs and the removal of fixed charges for electric vehicle charging stations to promote electric mobility.
