
Jaipur, April 6 Rajasthan is likely to experience another spell of rain, hailstorms, and strong winds starting from Monday due to the influence of a new western disturbance, the India Meteorological Department said.
The weather office has advised farmers to cover food grains and other crops lying in the open to prevent possible damage due to rain and hail.
According to the department, a strong western disturbance will become active over parts of the state on April 6, affecting the Jodhpur, Bikaner, Ajmer, and Jaipur divisions, as well as the Shekhawati region.
Under its impact, several areas are likely to receive gusty winds with speeds of 40-50 kilometers per hour, along with rain and isolated hailstorms.
The impact is expected to intensify on April 7, with strong winds reaching speeds of 50-60 kilometers per hour in parts of Jodhpur, Bikaner, Ajmer, Jaipur, Bharatpur, Kota, and Udaipur divisions. Moderate to heavy rainfall and hailstorms are also likely at isolated places during this period.
Officials said that 20-50 mm of rainfall is expected in parts of the Bikaner division and the Shekhawati region.
On April 8, light to moderate rainfall is likely at isolated places in the northern parts of Bikaner, Jaipur, and Bharatpur divisions, while the weather is expected to remain largely dry in most other areas.
From April 9 onwards, the weather is likely to remain mainly dry for the next three to four days, with a 2-3 degree Celsius rise in temperatures.
The department has advised farmers to cover food grains and other produce kept in open fields or mandis, or store them in safe places to protect them from potential damage due to rain and hail.
