
Jaipur, March 22 Three people, including a couple, were killed after a speeding pickup truck collided with their motorcycle on a national highway in Pratapgarh district, Rajasthan, on Sunday, police said.
The accident occurred near Kachotiya village on Chittorgarh-Banswara National Highway 56 when the motorcycle carrying three people was hit by a pickup truck loaded with chickens, officials said.
Suhagpura Station House Officer Manish Vaishnav said the deceased were identified as Jeevan Meena (40), his wife Champa (37), and their friend Guddu Meena (26), all residents of the Peepalkhoont area.
Police said the trio were returning home after visiting Pratapgarh city when the pickup truck hit their motorcycle and overturned.
All four injured, including the pickup truck driver, were taken to the district hospital, where three of them succumbed during treatment, police said.
The pickup truck driver, identified as Aslam Khan (30) from Mandsaur in Madhya Pradesh, was referred to a hospital in Mandsaur in critical condition.
