Jaipur, April 3 NSUI members staged a protest outside the Rajasthan University on Friday against a program scheduled on campus that was linked to the RSS.

The student wing of the Congress protested after individuals associated with the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) were named as participants in the event on women's empowerment, which was being organized by the Marudhara Nari Sangathan at the humanities auditorium on Friday afternoon.

The protesters gathered outside the main gate of the university and attempted to breach the barricades to enter the campus, but were stopped by police.

Additional police force was deployed both inside and outside the university to maintain law and order.

Alleging that the event was linked to the ideology of the Sangh, NSUI leader Amardeep Parihar said, "The campus cannot be used for activities that promote a particular ideology. It is not conducive to an academic environment."

"The university is a center of learning, and such events influence the atmosphere on campus," he claimed.
