
Jaipur, March 31 Three children died after being buried under a sand mound that collapsed while they were playing in a field in the Sikar district, police said on Tuesday.
The incident took place on Monday afternoon in the Ganedi village, under the Nechwa police station area, SHO Kailash Chand said.
The deceased were identified as Holesh Meghwal (10), Gautam Saini (14) and Deepesh Nayak (12), he added.
Chand said that four children were playing near a field and had dug a tunnel inside a sand mound when it suddenly collapsed, trapping three of them underneath.
One child, identified as Krishna, was near the tunnel's opening and managed to escape. Hearing his cries, villagers rushed to the spot and pulled out the trapped children, but they had already died, police said.
