
Jaipur, April 5 Light to moderate rain accompanied by thunder and strong winds were recorded in isolated areas of Rajasthan due to a western disturbance, the weather office said on Sunday.
The department has also issued an alert for fresh spells of storms, rain, and hail from April 6 to 8.
The western parts of the state experienced rainfall in one or two locations, while eastern Rajasthan recorded scattered rainfall activity with thunderstorms and strong winds.
Bari town in Dholpur district recorded the highest rainfall at 40 mm.
The Jaipur Meteorological Centre said light rain and thunder activity are likely in isolated areas of Jaipur and Bharatpur divisions on Sunday, while most other areas are expected to remain mainly dry.
A fresh western disturbance is expected to become active from April 6, bringing strong winds of 40-50 kmph, rain, and isolated hailstorms in parts of Jodhpur, Bikaner, Ajmer, and Shekhawati regions.
The impact is expected to peak on April 7, with several areas across Jodhpur, Bikaner, Ajmer, Jaipur, Bharatpur, and Kota divisions likely to witness intense thunderstorm activity, strong winds of 50-60 kmph, moderate to heavy rainfall, and isolated hailstorms.
Light to moderate rainfall is expected in isolated areas in northern and eastern Rajasthan on April 8, while most other regions may remain dry.
Weather conditions are likely to remain largely dry across the state from April 9 for the next three to four days.
The department has advised farmers to take precautions, including covering harvested crops and stored grains in mandis or shifting them to safer locations to prevent damage from rain and hail.
