Mumbai, March 4 Actor Rajesh Tailang is grieving the loss of his mother. On Wednesday, the actor posted a throwback picture of his mother on his Instagram, informing his followers of her passing.
He wrote in the caption, "Whoever came into this world, has now left it. My mother is no more."
The actor is known for his work in the Emmy-winning streaming show 'Delhi Crime'. He started acting at a young age and was associated with theatre before transitioning to screen roles. Over the years, he has built a reputation for portraying realistic characters rather than commercial lead roles. He gained wider recognition for playing Inspector Bhupendra Singh in the Netflix series 'Delhi Crime', which won the International Emmy Award for Best Drama Series. His performance was noted for its restraint and authenticity.
He has also appeared in series such as 'Mirzapur' and 'Bandish Bandits', further solidifying his presence in the streaming space. In films, he has featured in projects like 'Mangal Pandey: The Rising' and 'Mukkabaaz'. The actor is known for his disciplined performances and character depth, and Rajesh Tailang remains a reliable supporting actor in contemporary Indian cinema and OTT content.
Earlier, during the promotion of 'Delhi Crime', the actor had shared that he wants to explore characters beyond the typical "good guy" roles that he often plays.
Besides his role in the hugely popular show 'Mirzapur', which features morally ambiguous characters, the actor expertly portrays "good" characters with absolute finesse.
Talking about such characters, he earlier told IANS, "I am getting a little bored, that's why I'm trying something different. I have done comedy and I'm also doing a negative role, but yes, it's often more difficult to portray a positive character because it's harder to maintain interest in the character".
In the show, Rajesh portrays the role of Inspector Bhupendra Singh. 'Delhi Crime' stars Shefali as Vartika Chaturvedi, a sharp police officer who leads her team through intense investigations under immense public and political pressure.
