Rajnath Singh Accuses Kerala Leaders of Betraying Lord Ayyappa

Rajnath Singh Accuses Kerala Leaders of Betraying Lord Ayyappa.webp

Kochi, April 1 Senior BJP leader and Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Wednesday alleged that "God was not safe in Kerala," referring to the state, known as "God's Own Country," and the ruling LDF's betrayal of Lord Ayyappa in connection with the Sabarimala gold smuggling cases.

Speaking at a public meeting in the Paravur assembly constituency, Singh said that just as Judas betrayed Jesus Christ, the LDF betrayed Lord Ayyappa.

He also accused the Left Democratic Front (LDF) and the United Democratic Front (UDF) of betraying the people of Kerala, dividing society, "destroying" the state's economy, and failing to fulfill their promises to the public.

During his election campaign speech, the defence minister also alleged that the "front" word in both the LDF and UDF means "front of corruption."

He further alleged that LDF means "theft, division, and failure," while UDF means "untrustworthy, dishonesty, and fraud."

During his speech, he also alleged that state-sponsored gold smuggling occurred in 2020, and that people close to Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan were involved.

He also said that someone in the CM's family was allegedly found to be involved in money laundering in connection with a case related to Cochin Minerals and Rutile Ltd (CMRL).

There were also several "scams" during the UDF's tenure, and they were just as bad as the LDF, Singh claimed.

The Assembly elections in Kerala will be held on April 9.
