Rajouri Arrest: Weapons and Ammunition Linked to Border Activity.webp

In Jammu and Kashmir, a resident of the border area was arrested in the frontier district of Rajouri, along with two foreign-made pistols and ammunition. An Akashvani Jammu correspondent reports that Sachin Kumar, a resident of the Sair village near the Line of Control (LoC) in the Nowshera sector, was apprehended by an Army patrol party from Raipur village late Wednesday night. Two pistols, one made in Turkey and the other made in China, were recovered from his possession, along with four magazines and 15 rounds of ammunition. A case has been registered against Kumar, and further investigation is ongoing. Preliminary questioning revealed that the accused allegedly received the consignment from across the border and was tasked with delivering it to another person, when he was intercepted by the patrol party. However, efforts are underway to identify the intended recipient of the weapons and to determine other details of the cross-border network. Meanwhile, security forces have launched a search operation in the Marlog and Lodra forests in the Basantgarh area of the Udhampur district after receiving information about the movement of three suspected terrorists. The search operation was ongoing when the last reports were received. More details are awaited.
