At the Jammu Press Club, the ST-2 Sangharsh Samiti (Displaced from PoJK) held a press conference to highlight the issues faced by displaced families. Committee member and retired SSP Surinder Sharma stated that the government has granted ST-2 status to displaced persons from PoJK, but certain conditions have been imposed for people from Rajouri and Poonch.
He stated that the displaced families are meeting all the required conditions, yet the Tehsildars and concerned officials are not accepting their applications. He urged the government to issue clear instructions to the authorities so that eligible people can receive the benefits of ST-2 status.
