In a significant step towards providing passport services at citizens' doorsteps, a three-day Mobile Passport Van Camp commenced at the DC Office Complex in Rajouri and will continue until March 26, 2026.
The camp was inaugurated by Deputy Commissioner Rajouri, Abhishek Sharma, in the presence of OSD, Ministry of External Affairs, Sunil Khar.
The initiative has been organized by the Regional Passport Office Jammu in collaboration with the District Administration Rajouri to facilitate passport services for residents of Rajouri and Poonch districts.
During the camp, citizens can avail on-the-spot passport-related services, with approximately 50 appointments scheduled each day. A large number of people visited the camp on the first day and completed the required formalities.
Speaking to the media, Sunil Khar said the main objective of such camps is to reduce the rush at passport offices and ease difficulties faced by the general public in obtaining passports.
The Deputy Commissioner said the initiative would greatly benefit the public, particularly those who face challenges in traveling to Jammu for passport services. He also expressed gratitude to the Regional Passport Office for organizing the camp for the convenience of local residents.
