Mumbai, April 7 Actor Rajpal Yadav, who is gearing up for the release of his upcoming film ‘Bhooth Bangla’, has reacted to the controversy surrounding him being allegedly humiliated at a recent award ceremony. The actor has clarified that the incident was part of a performance during the ceremony.
On Tuesday, the actor posted a video of himself on Instagram, addressing his followers. He appealed to them not to target the show hosts, Saurabh Dwivedi and Zakir Khan, who made the remark from the stage.
He said, “I was fortunate to attend the Screen Awards the other day. I had the opportunity to meet the entire industry. There was a lot of dancing, skits, and singing. The atmosphere was great. Various skits were being performed. One of the things that Saurabh, Zakir, and I discussed was about the world. There are wars in the world that impact the economy. Everything is constantly changing. The common person has to understand this. We tried to create a skit for the entire world”.
He further added, “Sometimes, this happens in films. We design the scene. But the message of the scene doesn't always reach the audience correctly. This is cinema. Saurabh and Zakir are like my younger brothers. They have always shown me respect. They are my heart. We are all artistes, journalists, painters, and storytellers. We are always connected. Saurabh made the entire auditorium stand up and applaud my work. Thank you, Saurabh”.
“Please do not criticize Saurabh. Please do not hurt his feelings. Hurting his feelings would also be hurting mine. If you say anything about Saurabh, it will hurt me. I love Saurabh, I love Zakir, and I love all of you. I am here because of you. Thank you”, he concluded.
